Dossier[]
Dossier #01: A Good Person[]
Min Byun-Gu always wanted to be a kind person.
He could never deny anyone help. People said, "If there were such a thing as a perfectly selfless person, his name would be Min Byung-Gu."
At times, this reputation weighed heavily on his shoulders. But it was a burden he had created for himself.
He had to live up to their expectations.
There had to be a reason that he was given the magical power to heal.
It was like a sacred mission to him.
Dossier #02: A Mission[]
Hunters risked their lives against the magic beasts to protect their country and its citizens. How could the country not put effort into protecting them in return?
So healing and protecting them became his duty.
He had the power and will he needed to fulfill this mission. It's what kept him going. IT's what allowed him to ignore the looks of envy and hide expectations that surrounded him.
But his expectations for himself grew so high, they stopped him in his tracks.
Dossier #03: Nightmares[]
It was during the first Jeju Island raid. Ants swarmed across the land. He became overwhelmed as he realized he couldn't protect everyone on his own.
He watched his comrade die before his eyes, and being forced to retreat without being able to do anything for him made his righteous mind sink into despair and fear.
His colleague's cries for help taunted him relentlessly in his nightmares. Every time he had that dream, he tried to find a new way to save them. But no matter the outcome, when he woke up, nothing had changed.
He forced himself to join raids, pushing himself to overcome his grief and self-doubt. But when the sight of the wounded left him paralyzed with fear, he knew he was no longer fit to be a hunter. He started the retirement process, despite Baek Yoonho's pleas to reconsider.
Dossier #04: All-powerful?[]
The power of healing wasn't the omnipotent power Min Byung-Gu had thought it was.
And he wasn't the experimental person people thought he was, either.
He often thought back to the moment the ants had taken his friend. He remembered thinking, "I'm glad that's not me."
He decided he wasn't a nice person at all. He was just someone who wanted to be wanted, and his power gave him the means to do that.
And his "mission?" Had been a smokescreen to prevent the world from seeing what he really was: a hypocrite.
