Dossier[]
Dossier #01: The Compassionate Woman[]
With dark eyes, slick black hair, and starkly pale skin, she looked like she was almost rendered in monochrome. As soon as she walked into the Hunters Association building, all eyes were on her. Her name... was Seorin.
Though she had an intimidating appearance, Seorin was kind to everyone. She had been a perfectionist since she was young, and her cultivated appearance and mannerisms drew other hunters to her. But Seorin rarely let others in.
In her heart, she had but one true friend: the long-lost Seol-Ah.
The memory of the school rooftop where she first met Soel-Ah was still vivid in Seorin's memories.
Dossier #02: First Meeting[]
Seol-Ah was standing precariously on the railing. As her body swayed in the strong wind, Seorin jumped towards her. The two rolled across the rooftop until they came to a stop.
Seorin spotted a tag that read "Lee Seol-Ah."
Seorin brushed off her knees and got up. Then she looked to Seol-Ah. Up close, Seol-Ah's skin looked almost sickly. Seol-Ah lowered her head and sobbed. Seorin reached out to soothe Seol-Ah's trembling shoulders with a gentle touch, but withdrew her hand.
Seorin didnt ask why Seol-Ah had climbed up on the railing. But she didn't walk away. She gave Seol-Ah space to cry, standing by her side in silence. That was how they met.
Dossier #03: Simple, Yet Brilliant[]
Actions speak louder than words, and Seorin's said more than Seol-Ah could possibly thank her for. Suddenly, the rooftop wasn't the end of a journey, but the beginning- it became their hideout. They came there to comfort one another in times of pain.
Snowfall came. In bare feet, Seol-Ah crept up to Seorin's front door. The harsh cold of the dirty, ice ground had left wounds.
Seol-Ah's voice trembled as she said "This was the only place I could think to go." Seol-Ah didn't cry, and instead forced herself to smile as she looked at Seorin. Seorin returned her smile, and brought her inside without prying further.
She gave her a safe heaven, praying that Seol-Ah wouldn't disappear into the cold again in the morning.
Dossier #04: See You on Graduation Day[]
Seol-Ah spent her vacation at Seorin's house. Having her in sight brought Seorin comfort. But after getting a phone call a few days later, Seol-Ah left. Seorin offered to go with her, but Seol-Ah shook her head. "I'll come back soon," she promised. She didn't. After they hadn't spoken for a few days, Seorin visited Seol-Ah's house.
Seol-Ah had lost more weight. Seol-Ah's father looked at Seorin with suspicion. There was nothing she could do to help.
Seol-Ah saw Seorin off, saying she would see her on graduation day. But Seol-Ah didn't attend. Seorin called her several times, but Seol-Ah didn't answer.
Dossier #05: No Truth is Flawless[]
Seorin went to Seol-Ah's house again, but the house was cordoned off in police tape as Hunters Association officials bustled through the crime scene. Seorin looked up at the sky. Sleet fell softly, scattering through the air.
Seol-Ah's story made the news. Her picture was plastered on wanted posters all over town.
But no one knew who was really to blame.
In this world, the truth is never simple.
Why was the Hunters Association the one investigating and not the police?
Seorin had to know what had happened to Seol-Ah, and why she had disappeared like the melting snow. So Seorin made her way to the Hunters Association.
