Secret File[]

Thetis the water nymph had a son whom she cherished.
Unlike herself, the child was half-human and destined to die.

So Thetis searched everywhere to find a way to make her child immortal.

However, those she queried only offered curses or methods that would harm her child.

After several futile attempts, an exhausted Thetis was visited by an elderly woman who was wearing an old, tattered robe.

The elderly woman introduced herself as someone who had once received a favor from Theti’ parent, the God of the Sea. She said that she had come to visit Thetis to repay the favor.

The elderly woman told the skeptical Thetis that if she placed her child in the River of the Dead, it could make his body immortal.

Doubtful by desperate, Thetis took her child and headed to the River of the Dead.

When the child's body was dipped in the River of the Dead by his heels as the elderly women instructed, light began to seep into the child's skin.

Thetis realized that the elderly woman had spoken true, and she headed for land with a happy heart.

Thetis' husband was worried that their child would be punished for having a power meant only for the gods. But Thetis believed that the child had received a gift from the gods, and was worthy of becoming a hero.

The child, who grew up under Thetis' love, became a strong young man.
He participated in several wars across the land. During these conflicts, he demonstrated his expertise in the martial arts.

Thetis was proud of her son's newfound honor, but she was also worried that the child's weakness would be revealed and something bad would happen to him.
In the end, to keep her child away from the battlefield, Thetis decided to lock him in a tower, deep in the sea, with no exit, guarded by water dragons.

Her son was born with an unyielding spirit. He complained about his imprisonment, but Thetis didn't budge.

She planned on giving her child the freedom he wanted once the war was over.
Until then, she planned on finding a way to remove his weakness.

The water dragons guarding him were controlled by her father, the God of the Sea, so no one would dare touch her child.

With her mind at peace, Thetis left her child and wandered around the world again, searching for the elderly woman.

She finally found her crying in front of someone's grave. She glared fiercely at Thetis when the nymph came to sit next to her, then eventually nodded and said to Thetis:

"From one mother to another, I know how to end your worries about your son's death."

Thetis was overjoyed and went with the elderly woman to the undersea tower.
When they arrived, Thetis didn't want the elderly woman to know where the entrance was, so she made the elderly woman wait outside.

That was a big mistake.

The water dragons saw the stranger and began to attack, destroying everything around them.

Thetis' child was caught in the cross-fire and died a quick death.

Thetis cradled the body of her son, staring at his blackened heels with wide-eyed disbelief. She went and found the elderly woman.

The elderly woman stood proudly in front of the maddened water dragons and said "Now you know the only way a mother's worries will end."

It was then that Thetis realized whose grave the elderly woman had wept over.
The elderly woman's loved ones had died at the hands of her her son.

For a brief moment, she pitied the elderly woman, but soon, her anger began to flood through her entire body.

Thetis bound the water dragons to grimoire.
Then she commanded them to destroy the elderly woman, who seemed to have used up all her powers.

The elderly woman's last moments were short.
In the depth of the sea where Thetis stood, only emptiness remained.

After leaving the sea, Thetis traveled the battlefields and used the tainted water dragons to slaughter her son's enemies. After the war was over, she buried the grimoire deep in the sea and headed to the River of the Dead.

At last, Thetis vanished from the human world, leaving behind only her buried tome and the nickname "The Nymph of the Death."
